Colt Model 1877 ''Thunderer'' Double Action Revolver, #120722, .41 Colt CF cal., 4.5'' barrel, with integral tall-blade front and topstrap groove rear sight, marked with maker's name and address in two lines on top, and ''Colt D.A. 41'' on left side; 6-shot long-fluted round cylinder; case hardened frame (with three-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and an encircled ''Rampant Colt'' logo on left side), and swing-out loading gate batch-marked ''6'' (or ''9''); blued hammer with sides polished ''bright''; blued steel gripstraps; two-piece finely-checkered black hard rubber ''bird's head'' grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval cartouche at top. Mfg'd 1900. Condition is very good. Barrel and ejector retain approx. 25% blue amid scattered erosion and discoloration; cylinder with 65% blue (mostly confined to flutes); case hardened frame has silvered out and darkened; hammer shows 75% fire-blue; gripstraps retain 35% blue, mostly on triggerguard and backstrap apron. Grips show light wear, no cracks or chips and fit well. Action and lock-up are crisp and sure in both single- and double actions; bore is clean with distinct rifling. Est.: $350-$450. (C&R/PPT)
